Waydev alternative: a workspace price, not per contributor.

Waydev bills each active contributor, annually: Pro is $29 a month and Premium, with AI adoption and impact, $49, and a free Start Up plan covers 10 repositories.[1] Zest is priced per workspace with seats included, and works with GitHub only.
Waydev connects GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps and Gerrit, and its Enterprise plan can run self-hosted.[1] If your code is not on GitHub, or must stay on your own servers, Waydev fits and Zest does not.
Zest gets you:

Self-hosting and on-prem Git
Waydev's Enterprise plan runs self-hosted or cloud-hosted and connects the on-prem versions of GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket and Jira. Zest is cloud-hosted and connects GitHub through its GitHub App, nothing else. A team on GitLab or Bitbucket, or one that must host its own tools, should choose Waydev; DX and LinearB Enterprise also connect several Git hosts.
Comparing AI tools: cost per output or per session
Waydev compares Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code and Windsurf on cost per commit, per pull request and per feature; a tool that reports no cost, such as Copilot, counts as zero. Zest compares at the session: each engineer's model, tokens and estimated cost in Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Copilot Chat, and which sessions ended in a merged pull request. Copilot metrics covers what GitHub reports itself.
