Claude Team and Enterprise plans for engineering teams, October 2026.
Claude Team costs $25 a seat a month, or $20 billed annually, for 2 to 150 people; Premium seats, with 5x a Standard seat's usage, cost $125, or $100 annually. Enterprise is $20 a seat a month, billed annually, plus every token at API rates.

How much does the Claude Team plan cost?
A Team plan needs at least two members and holds up to 150; past that, you upgrade to Enterprise. Seats bill monthly or annually, by card. Adding or upgrading a seat is prorated and charged right away; removing a seat, or moving one from Premium to Standard, waits for the renewal, with no refund. Claude Code comes with every seat, Standard included.
Standard or Premium: who needs the bigger seat?
A Standard seat gets 1.25 times Pro's usage per session and a Premium seat 6.25 times, each with a weekly limit on top. The limits apply to each member, not to the team as a whole, and you can mix the two seat types.
Give Premium to the people who hit the limit. Per five-hour window it gives more than Max 5x (6.25x Pro against 5x) and just under a third of Max 20x; neither publishes its weekly limit. On Max 20x one of our engineers still saw a limit notice on 16 of 29 active days, so budget usage credits for your heaviest users. With JIT provisioning, a new member gets the highest seat type left unless you map identity-provider groups to seat types, so count your spare Premium seats.
What is the difference between Claude Team and Enterprise?
Team puts the usage in the seat. Enterprise sells access and bills every token separately, and adds SCIM, audit logs, the Compliance API, custom data retention and group spend limits:

How does Claude Enterprise pricing work?
The Enterprise seat covers access only: there is no included allowance, so every token is billed at API rates (1.1 times them for US-only inference). Self-serve Enterprise starts at 20 seats and runs on credits bought up front; when they run out, usage stops for the whole organization. Through sales the minimum is 50 seats and usage is billed monthly in arrears. Enterprise is annual only, and self-serve seats can't be removed mid-term.
What usage costs depends on the work. Anthropic puts the average across enterprise deployments at $150–250 per developer a month. One heavy month of one of our engineers, priced at October 4, 2026 API list prices, came to more than a hundred times the top of that range (Claude Code pricing has the month). Budget from your own sessions, not the average.
What do usage credits and the monthly API credit pay for?
Usage credits let Team members keep working past their limit, billed at standard API rates. Owners buy them in advance and cap them for the organization and per member; Anthropic notes a cap can be slightly exceeded.
Team also includes monthly API credits, pooled across seats and capped each month. They pay for the API, Managed Agents and the Agent SDK on an API key, not for interactive Claude Code, and they don't roll over. Enterprise plans aren't eligible.
What to check before you buy
Six things decide which plan fits an engineering team:
Seat floors: Team starts at 2 seats, Enterprise at 20 self-serve or 50 through sales.
Who shares usage: Team limits are per member, while self-serve Enterprise draws on one credit balance for the whole organization.
The Premium mix: downgrades wait for the renewal, and JIT provisioning hands new members the highest seat type left unless identity-provider groups set it.
Spend caps: set an organization cap and per-member caps when you turn on usage credits; a cap can be slightly exceeded.
Compliance: SCIM, audit logs, the Compliance API and custom retention are Enterprise only. The Compliance API covers Claude Code in the CLI and the desktop app, not its cloud sessions.
Moving later: Team to Enterprise keeps chats, projects and roles, but the self-serve move can't be undone.
How do you see what each engineer costs?
Team's spend report prices only usage-credit spend: Anthropic's cost docs say usage inside the seat allowance isn't metered in dollars. Zest's plugin prices each Claude Code session it captures at list rates, inside the allowance too, per engineer and next to Codex and Cursor, and links sessions to the pull requests they led to. That is the number to size Premium seats with, and to estimate what the same work would cost on Enterprise (Claude Code usage).

Starter is free (3 seats, no credit card). Pro is $49 a month with 5 seats and Max is $149 a month with 10 seats — priced per workspace, not per engineer, with extra seats at $19 a month.
Yes. Two members is the minimum, and each gets their own seat with their own usage limits.
Are Claude Team usage limits shared across the team?+
No. Anthropic applies Team limits to each member, not to the team as a whole.
Is there a minimum number of seats for Claude Enterprise?+
Anthropic's Help Center lists 20 seats for self-serve Enterprise and 50 when you buy through sales; its pricing page doesn't state a minimum.
Can we move from Team to Enterprise later?+
Yes. The organization keeps its chats, projects and roles. The self-serve move can't be undone, and some features, such as skills and code execution, start switched off on Enterprise.
Does the Team plan's API credit pay for Claude Code?+
Not interactive Claude Code. It pays for the API, Managed Agents and the Agent SDK, including `claude -p` run with an API key from the linked Console organization; interactive Claude Code in the terminal, IDE, desktop or web draws on the seat's limits and usage credits.
